Saida Mirziyoyeva, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, held a meeting with representatives of the country’s leading animation studios to address key challenges and opportunities in the development of the national animation industry.
During the discussion, she emphasized the critical importance of producing high-quality local content for children. Despite growing interest in national culture, much of the media consumed by young audiences in Uzbekistan still comes from foreign sources.
“There is a particularly acute shortage of children’s songs in Uzbek, cartoons reflecting our national values, as well as progressive and educational materials” Saida Mirziyoyeva shared on her official Telegram channel.

She highlighted the Donocha project as a successful example of creating engaging and meaningful content for children in the Uzbek language and called for broader support of similar initiatives.
Participants also discussed how children's literature and folk tales could serve as a powerful foundation for developing unique animated stories that foster a sense of cultural identity and pride from an early age.
