ATA to Present a Major Festival of Turkic Animation in Baku within the Baku Cinema Breeze International Film Festival

The event will become a key platform for advancing children’s animation and developing co-produced animated series across the Turkic world.
The Association of Turkic Animation (ATA) will hold the Festival of Turkic Animation from December 5 to 11 in Baku. The festival will serve as a central industry event for the region, focusing on the growth of children’s animation and the development of animated series through international co-production among Turkic-speaking countries.The initiative is organized within the framework of the Baku Cinema Breeze International Film Festival 2025, which provides an international platform for the festival’s activities.
Children’s Animation as a Core Priority
A key part of the ATA program will be screenings of children’s animated series produced by studios from various Turkic republics. These screenings aim to introduce young audiences to shared cultural values, characters, and storytelling traditions from across the Turkic world, highlighting the importance of high-quality children’s content as a foundation for the industry’s future.
On December 6 and 7, the program will feature screenings of animated series from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Azerbaijan, giving audiences an opportunity to discover the diversity and creative potential of children’s animated TV shows across the region.
Professional Program and Co-Production Opportunities
Alongside public screenings, the ATA festival will host a professional program designed to strengthen cooperation in the region.On December 9, ATA will organize a roundtable with international guests and experts focusing on collaboration opportunities, the creation of animated series through international co-production, emerging production models, and strategies for building a sustainable regional animation market.
In addition, on December 7 at 14:00, the festival will host a series of masterclasses at the Yaradıcı Creative Hub. Gurban Masimov will lead a workshop on acting techniques tailored specifically for animators, while Peter Nalli and Matthew Lyon will share insights and practical guidance on building a successful career in the animation industry.
Strengthening the Position of Turkic Animation
The ATA festival aims not only to present content but also to foster long-term connections among studios, producers, and creators. The event supports knowledge exchange, joint project development, and increased visibility of Turkic animation on the global stage.
